Iris Messenger is my version of MSN messenger.
It's advantage over the standard client is it's lack of advertisements and optimised
code so as to attempt to consume less memory. At present this program supports:
-
Standard messaging,
-
Mobile messaging,
-
Standard emoticons,
-
Custom emoticons,
-
File transfer (with image preview),
-
Avatars (aka display pictures),
-
Message history (displays last few conversations the in message window),
-
Receiving voice clips (sending, but only to others using this client),
-
Handwriting messages,
-
Tabbed (grouped conversation) windows, Custom event management, and
- Encrypted sessions!
Encrypted messages can obviously only work between people using this client, since
this feature isn't supported in the official client.
The custom events include delayed message delivery, and automatic delivery of messages
to users who were offline at the time you attempted to send them a message.
To send a delayed message, simply press Shift+Enter, and enter the time you want
the message to be delivered (NB It only works if you're online at that time!)
Please note that this program is currently under heavy development, and may have
bugs! Please email me with details if you do
happen to find any.
Before downloading, please make sure you are legally allowed
to use encryption software in your country.
