Stereogram Creator
Stereograms are 2D images which, when viewed in a certain way, appear to become
3-dimensional scenes. This program allows you to transform 2D images into stereograms.
The 2D image is a greyscale representation of the depth of the 3D scene. Lighter
shades are closer to the viewer than darker ones.
Stereograms can be quite hard to see if you haven't ever come across them before.
There are two different techniques for seeing them which I will explain below:
One is called the parallel technique. For this method to work you have to slowly
try and imagine you're looking at an object in the distance while still keeping
the stereogram in focus. You should start to see 2 images overlaid over the top
of one another until the pattern aligns and a 3D image appears!
The other method is known as the cross-eyed technique. Basically you do the opposite
to the first method, and slowly cross your eyes until the pattern lines up with
itself again and a 3D image appears.
